The long-term goal of the project is to ensure that: "climate effective policies and measures relating to sustainable energy, including energy efficiency in supply and consumption as well as renewable energy and clean energy technology, are promoted in South African energy planning and development" Approach, organisational programmes and activities: Activities regarding energy are: raising awareness (energy options, efficiency and impacts), advocacy and lobbying for sustainable energy policies and measures, and developing and disseminating knowledge Examples of past successes and experience Not involved in project implementation or evaluation; have managed two research studies: 'Policies and Measures for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in South Africa' undertaken by UCT (EDRC & ERI) & Employment potential of Renewable Energy in South Africa, undertaken by AGAMA Energy Overall institutional structure Earthlife Africa Jhb is a registered non-profit organisation, one of 4 branches of Earthlife Africa, which has a non-hierarchical organisational approach and structure. Annual revenue from membership fees is currently less than R10 000. Project budgets vary.
