General conditions

A new financing approach for the long term alleviation of poverty in sub-Saharan Africa through combining public and private funding partners and adopting commercial and developmental principles in support of sustainable development and economic growth.

Development of infrastructure and the involvement of the private sector are the two key points of focus for the Fund: infrastructure development is seen as a pre-requisite for economic growth and the private sector is seen to be best able to identify and manage risks associated with such development in many sectors so as to ensure assets and services perform over time.
