The Small Grants Programme (SGP) provides grants for projects that are designed and implemented by local community organizations and non-governmental organizations and that meet the objectives of GEF (reduction of greenhouse gas emissions leading to sustainable development)

General conditions

The types of activities eligible for SGP include community-based demonstration programmes, pre-project community-based assessment and planning activities, targeted research with emphasis on indigenous knowledge and management systems, and information dissemination, networking and policy dialogue. Applications need to come from within the host-nation.
